Task 2 - Straight Ahead & Pose to Pose (Plasticine and Paper Cut Out)

This is my plasticine morph as the first part of my task 2 (straight ahead & pose to pose) which uses the straight ahead principle of animation. This part of task has helped me understand claymation through plasticine as well as stop motion as a method of animation.

What went well:
  • Movement of ducks and balls are smooth
  • Audio works well with animation
What to improve:
  • Ending is rather abrupt
  • some areas could have flown better
How to combat this:
  • Taken more images
  • Lengthen the animation to make it flow more naturally

I also created a paper cut out animation using the pose to pose principle which allows me to plan out my sequence more than the straight ahead. This part of the task has helped me learn to use paper cut in my animations through stop motion.

What went well:
  • Morph is smooth and clear
  • Use of paper cut went well
What to improve:
  • Rather short
  • Character at the beginning appears a little jumpy
How to combat this:
  • Take more images
  • Plan sequences more
